The online Permit Fee Estimator is another tool to assist in estimating permit fees.
Instructions for online Permit Fee Estimator:
1. Enter the project street address.
2. Select the scope of work being done.
3. Enter the valuation.
4. Click the calculate button.
5. Shortly, a new page will appear with your estimate.
Notes:
The fee amounts shown are typical fees related to a building permit and are estimates only. The estimate(s) may also include development fees, which are required on certain types of projects. The "development fees", also known as "Public Facilities Fees" are based on criteria other than building valuation. Final fees for your project will be determined during the formal plan check process. There may be other fees which are not shown here which may be applicable to specific types of projects. The estimator may not reflect the latest fee changes.
If your commercial or industrial project is located in the Enterprise Zone, or is a commercial re-use of historical structures in the Magnolia Historical District, the "Permit and Plan Check" fees provided by the online fee estimator should be reduced by 50%.
The estimator does not currently estimate public facilities fees and other development fees for all work types, such as new commercial buildings or commercial tenant improvement projects (Additional information on these topics).
A plan check fee deposit is due at the time plans are submitted for plan check. The deposit is equal to the estimated plan check fee, rounded down to the nearest whole number. The balance of all fees will be collected at the time of permit issuance.
Some projects may require land use permit(s), fire permit(s) and public works permit(s) that will result in additional applications, approvals, and fees for your project. Please contact the respective agencies for further information.
The "Building Valuation Table" is provided to assist you in estimating your valuation of building construction cost which is required to be entered into the "Permit Fee Estimator". Please refer to the Instructions for Determining Project Valuation for more information.
