The Arts In Stockton

Stockton Arts Commission Logo

The Stockton Arts Commission

(founded in 1976) is the first and most active arts promotion agency in San Joaquin County. An advocating body for the arts, the commission offers arts opportunities and programs, and administers a $1.3 million City Endowment for the Arts benefiting area artists and arts organizations.

Stockton Arts Commission holds Arts Award Gala

The Stockton Arts Commission will honor its 2008 Arts Awards nominees at a celebration at the Bob Hope Theatre on October 17, 2008.

Awardees were recently announced. Performers, vendors and volunteers are currently being solicited. All individuals who plan to be associated with the show can fill out this online form.

The Tidewater Gallery and Stockton Arts Commission invite artists to exhibit at the event.

Contact the Stockton Arts Commission for more information.

Does your child like to sing?

The Stockton Arts Commission is considering the organization of a children's choir program through the Stockton Parks and Recreation Department. Third-sixth graders would work with a professional music instructor at a community center twice a week during the school year. For more information, please write to Deena Heath or call (209) 937-7488.

Public Art Program

Public art appearing throughout Stockton is the work of the Public Art Advisory Committee.

Volunteer members of the committee seek new and unexpected ways to awaken Stocktonians to the beauty around them.
