Housing Element
The State of California housing element law mandates that local governments must adequately plan to meet the existing and projected housing needs of all economic segments of the community. The purpose of the housing element is to identify the community's housing needs, to state the community's goals and objectives with regard to housing production, rehabilitation, and conservation to meet those needs, and to define the policies and programs that the community will implement to achieve the stated goals and objectives.
The City's Housing Element was adopted by City Council on May 18, 2010 and was certified by the State of California on June 29, 1010. The Housing Element is a component of the 2035 General Plan, which provides guiding policy for all growth and development within the City.
