Artists invited to apply to exhibit at the Stockton Awards Celebration
The Stockton Arts Commission & the Tidewater Art Center & Gallery announce an invitation for original art
by Stockton artists
for consideration and exhibition as part of the
Stockton Arts Awards Celebration
to be held at the Bob Hope Theatre.
The 31st Annual 2008 Stockton Arts Commission Arts Awards Celebration will bring to the historic halls of the beautifully restored Bob Hope Theatre an evening of international culinary tasting by downtown restaurants, music, dance, and performances from local talent. Icons like the Stockton Symphony and Stockton Civic Theatre, along with emerging artists will join forces to shine a bright light on the city of Stockton. The visual arts are an important component of this celebration.
Two dimensional original art, of any medium, may be submitted for consideration. There is no fee required with your submission. The Tidewater Visual Arts Exhibit Committee will professionally jury all art. Accepted artists will be featured in the Artist’s Leaflet accompanying the Arts Awards Celebration Program.
Entry conditions:
- Submit for consideration no more than two (2) pieces.
- No piece may be larger than 36” x 36” framed.
- No piece may be smaller than 11”x14” framed.
- All pieces must be framed and ready for hanging.
Submit theme, name, medium, and price for each piece.
Submit Artist Statement of no more than four (4) sentences.
Submit (signed) the attached “Request for Consideration” and participation agreement form.
Interest is high and space is limited. Artists are encouraged to submit original art on Friday October 3, Saturday, October 4, and Monday, October 6, 2008 between the hours of 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. only. No other opportunities will be made available.
Art is juried on October 7.
You will be notified if Art was accepted by phone on October 7th or 8th.
All work must be picked up from the gallery by October 24 by 5 p.m.
