After School Program
Stockton Parks and Recreation, Lodi, Stockton and Manteca School Districts work together to provide free after school programs funded by a grant through the California Department of Education.
The after school programs operate daily when school is in session, from school dismissal until 6 p.m.
Each school has an established program capacity, based on the facility space provided by the school, so early registration is a must. Registration is accepted at individual school sites. Schools currently participating in the grant are:
Lodi Unified (ASES): Ansel Adams, Clairmont, Creekside, Davis, Mosher, Oakwood, Parklane, Sutherland, Wagner Holt, and Westwood.
Stockton Unified (STEP Up): Cleveland, Grant, Harrison, Hazelton, Hong Kingston, Hoover, Madison, Marshall, Montezuma, Nightingale, Pulliam, Roosevelt, Taylor, Valenzuela, and Victory.
In addition to these grant funded programs, Stockton Parks and Recreation continues to offer affordable after school care* at several other schools. These sites include:
Manteca Unified: August Knodt, Great Valley, Komure
**Lodi Unified: John Muir** (see below)
*Registration for these programs is accepted at the Parks and Recreation office located at 6 East Lindsay Street, as well as McKinley, Seifert and Van Buskirk Community Centers. The fee for the program is $25 per week. If students receive free or reduced meals at school, they may attend the program for a reduced price ($16 per week) once a copy of the qualifying letter from the school district is furnished.
**A pre-registration for the John Muir Elementary School after school program will be held Saturday, July 12 at Seifert Community Center, 128 W. Benjamin Holt Drive, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. After that date, registration for any remaining available spaces will be accepted only at Seifert Community Center. The center is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.
Families that are unable to afford the cost of the program may contact Family Resource and Referral to see if they meet the qualifications for students to attend the program for free. |
