Solid Waste and Recycling
Stockton has a comprehensive waste collection system designed to reduce the amount of trash sent to our landfills. However, no system is complete without active participants.
Residents play a vital role in making Stockton's waste collection system work by using their three carts to separate their recyclable materials, green waste/food waste and trash.
Remember...Stockton residents are the key to creating a cleaner, more sustainable Stockton!
|
THE 3-CART SYSTEM
Stockton's service providers provide sturdy, easy-to-use wheeled carts for residents to use. The carts have an attached colored lid. These colored lids tell you what type of material to put in each cart.
|

|
The Recycling Cart:
Using a 60-gallon wheeled cart with a YELLOW lid, residents have access to convenient, single stream recycling which includes all paper, bottles, cans, cardboard, plastic, and scrap metal.

The Green Waste and Food Waste Cart:
Using a 90-gallon wheeled cart with a GREEN lid, residents containerize items such as leaves, tree limbs, pruning, cut flowers and certain food wastes for collection.

|
The Trash Cart:
Trash is collected using a trash cart with a DARK GRAY lid.
Residents can control the cost of their service by choosing from three different cart sizes. The less you throw away as trash, the lower your monthly cost will be!
